SAFELY!!

Rifle: On Saturday, June 22, 2019, at 0900, six rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 63 and 70% humidity with clear sunny skies and no wind. It was 70 with 58% humidity and by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.                       

The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category:  High Score was Dave Spearing who had a CMP bronze medal score. He fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 97-4X’s+88+81=266-4X’s. Chuck Chernoff fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 88+85-1X+74=247-1X. Mark Walker he fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 71-1X+81+65=217-1X. John Bay fired a.30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 86+75+49=210.

The following fired other rifles with open sights:  No one fired in this class.

The following fired other rifles with scopes:  High Score was Chuck Cargile.  He fired a .17 cal. Rimfire with a scope and scored 98-2X’s+93-1X+59=250-3X’s. Gil Holm fired a .223 cal. with a scope (2 rounds only) and scored 96+93-3’sX=189-3X’s.

After the match, five went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages. Renee served drinks and Chuck Chernoff paid the tab, every one thanked them both.​

RIFLE NEWS

Rifle: On Saturday, June 15, 2019, at 0900, seven rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 66 and 62% humidity with partly sunny skies, and strong gusty winds. It was 73 with 51% humidity and by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
                     
The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category:  High Score was Dave Spearing.  He fired a 7.7X58 Type 99 Arisaka and scored 90-2X’s+85+76=257-2X’s. Mark Walker fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 91-2X’s+63+49=203-2X’s. Mike Gentile fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 65+88-1X+50=203-1X. John Bay fired a .30 cal. US M1903-A3 and scored 91-1X+71-1X +37=199-2X’s.
 
The following fired other rifles with open sights:  High Score was Chuck Chernoff, who fired a .223 Cal. and scored 99-5X’s+97-2X’s+82=278-7X’s.

The following fired other rifles with scopes:  High Score was Chuck Cargile.  He fired a .17 cal. Hornet with a scope and scored 98-5X’s+96-1X+77=271-6X’s. Gil Holm he fired a .22 cal. Rimfire with a scope and scored 98-2X’s+98-1X+68=264-3X’s.

After the match, seven went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages.  Dick Cyphers joined us. Lynn served drinks and Mike Gentile paid the tab, every one thanked them both.

Rifle: On Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 0900, five rifle shooters met at our range to fire the regular weekly rifle match. The temperature was 64 and 68% humidity with rare very sunny skies and a slight breeze in the treetops. It was 77 with 35% humidity and by the end. Course of fire is 10 shots slow fire prone, 10 shots rapid fire prone, 10 shots slow fire standing.
                       
The following fired rifles that are used in the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program) course of fire and are in the medal score category:  High Score was Dave Spearing.  He had a CMP gold medal score. He fired a .30-40 Krag, US M1898 and scored 96-3X’s+94-1X+91=281-4X’s. Joe Dwyer fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 91-2X’s+82+58=231-2X’s. John Bay fired a .30 cal. M1 Garand and scored 84-1X+85 +61=230-1X.
 
The following fired other rifles with open sights:  High Score was Chuck Chernoff, who fired a .22 cal. Rimfire and scored 91-2X’s+84+84=259-2X’s. Mark Walker fired a .223 cal. and scored 95-3X’s+92-3X’s+70=256-6X’s.
 
After the match, five went to the excellent Willow Glen Café for beverages. Stacy served drinks and Joe Dwyer paid the tab, every one thanked them both.​
